Tim McGraw Delivers First Live Show in a Year, Joined by His Daughters for an Emotional Family Moment
Country music legend Tim McGraw made a powerful return to the stage after nearly a year of recovery, and the moment became even more unforgettable when he was joined by his three daughters for an emotional performance that left the crowd in tears.
The event took place at the inaugural Music City Rodeo in Nashville, a first-of-its-kind celebration that spanned three nights from May 29 to May 31. With performances from Reba McEntire, Jelly Roll, and McGraw himself, it marked a major milestone in Nashville’s live entertainment scene.
Tim McGraw’s Long Road to Recovery
McGraw’s Saturday night appearance was his first live performance in nearly 12 months, following multiple major surgeries, including a double knee replacement and three back surgeries. Speaking on the Bobby Bones Show, McGraw candidly shared his health challenges, revealing that his body had “just worn down” after years of touring.
“In the process of recovering from my knee surgeries, my back went out again and I had to have another back surgery,” McGraw explained. “It’s been a long road, but I’m grateful to be here.”

McGraw’s return was nothing short of triumphant. Opening with humor and humility, he greeted the crowd:
“Thank you! My name’s Tim, better known as Faith Hill’s husband, which I like a lot,” he joked, before thanking fans, organizers, and performers like Reba and Jelly Roll for making the event so special.
The country icon delivered some of his biggest hits, including “Southern Voice,” “Real Good Man,” “I Like It, I Love It,” and “Something Like That,” as well as debuting a brand-new, unreleased single from his upcoming album.
A Family Highlight: Singing With His Daughters
The most touching moment of the night came when McGraw invited his daughters—Gracie, Maggie, and Audrey—onstage to sing “Last Dollar (Fly Away).” The performance was filled with emotion, and by the end, the girls were visibly in tears as they embraced their father.
Joining them were the daughters of McGraw’s longtime producer Byron Gallimore—Sophia, Ella Rose, and Evangelin—making the moment even more powerful as multiple generations shared the stage.
Fans flooded social media with praise, calling it one of the most heartwarming country music moments of the year.
