Country superstar Tim McGraw says he owes much of his personal transformation and professional success to his wife, Faith Hill.

In a candid interview on Tracy Lawrence’s Road House podcast, McGraw opened up about how meeting Faith in the 1990s changed everything.

“Meeting my wife saved my life. I was a wild man,” McGraw confessed, reflecting on the early days before he married Hill in 1996. “She turned my life around.

I couldn’t have found a better woman. Not only beautiful and talented, but just a good, good person.”

Together, the couple shares three daughters—Gracie (28), Maggie (26), and Audrey (23)—and has built a strong, enduring marriage that’s lasted nearly three decades. McGraw credits fatherhood and family life as deeply grounding forces.
“They make you a better person, and they certainly calm the demons in you,” he added.

A Love That Endures

Despite the pressures of fame and the spotlight, Tim and Faith continue to prioritize fun, love, and laughter in their relationship. Faith once said,
“You just have to let some things roll off your shoulders and keep going and holding hands. You’re climbing the mountain together—and you’ve got to have a little fun.”

Their chemistry continues to wow fans—especially during live performances, where their romantic duets often spark viral moments.

Faith Helped Tim Get Sober

Beyond music and marriage, McGraw has also credited Hill with helping him find the strength to overcome addiction. In a 2021 Esquire article, he revealed one powerful turning point:

“I was getting out of bed and going to the liquor cabinet at 8 a.m. I had to wake the kids up. I went straight to my wife and said, ‘This is where I’m at.’ She just grabbed me and hugged me—and changed my life.”

Now sober since 2008, McGraw says he’s grateful every day for the life they’ve built and the woman who helped him find peace and purpose.
