BBC Morning Live presenter Helen Skelton recently warmed the hearts of fans with a touching social media tribute to her co-host and friend Gethin Jones.
The heartfelt post came after the pair successfully took part in the Wheely Big Challenge, roller-skating continuously for 24 hours as part of Comic Relief’s 40th anniversary campaign.
Their efforts helped raise a staggering £34 million, showcasing their dedication and teamwork.
Reflecting on the journey, Helen, 41, posted a series of behind-the-scenes clips of her and Gethin, 47, on Instagram, celebrating the milestone. But it was her heartfelt caption that caught everyone’s attention.
“Still can’t believe it. Overwhelmed by your kindness and incredibly proud of the @bbcmorninglive team for making this happen,” she wrote.
“Together, we raised over a million pounds for causes that uplift entire communities. We honored some truly selfless individuals. Broadcasted live for 26 hours. Highlighted the unsung heroes. It was a true privilege.”
Helen didn’t hold back in praising her challenge partner. Speaking affectionately, she called Gethin “a legend” and admitted how grateful she was to have him beside her – not only during the challenge, but in everyday life.
“I don’t often say this out loud, assuming it’s already known, but for the record – I have so much love and respect for you, my friend,” she wrote. “Having you beside me on the rink, the sofa, and beyond means the world.”
